This model is based on a circa 1850, 12 lb English brass Canon. This was about the time of the Napoleonic wars. The barrel was originally cast in brass but the barrel in the model was turned on a metal working lathe.
In order to build the Canon several jigs were made.
Wooden wheels were made in sections then glue assembled.
Nearing completion. Now it looks like a Canon.
