‘The Men’s Sheds’ organisation started in Australia but is now well established in the UK. There are many regional and local groups who offer practical, skill based support to mainly men who would otherwise work alone.

Yate Town Council were instrumental in initiating the Yate Men’s Shed group. Their vision brought us together at a public meeting and they continue to support us as we become established. 

The Warmley shed works within the Kingswood museum and  supports a group who repair tools - to be sent to developing countries.

Welcome to Yate & Sodbury District U3A. We are a vibrant, active u3a which was founded in 2005 and from small beginnings now has over 1400 members. 

Yate Bowls Club

Yate Bowling Club was founded in 1981 and has become a well established club among the bowling community in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. It has a playing membership of over 70 bowlers. We have a very active social calendar, with dinners, skittle night, race night and fun bowls events and other special events arranged throughout the year.
